The work of Raina Telgemeier, an award writer, has been published since 2016. At first glance, it seems scary, because it's called Ghosts, but it's a youth literature that tells a good story of illness, loss, and family relationships.

The story of two brothers, Cat and Maya, whose family had to move home from a large city to a foggy seaside town like Bahía de la Luna to hope for cold air and salinity aerosols from the sea to relieve the symptoms of Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease that causes the lungs to form dysfunctional sputum so that it is difficult to breathe and easily infected.

But the new city has the secret of "ghosts" and the Day of the Dead festival, or the Día de los Muertos of Mexican culture.

What we really like is the different dimensions of fear and acceptance of two brothers.

A sister like Maya, who is terminally ill and well aware that life is limited, is the one who best accepts the truth and tries to live the rest of her life worthily, while Kat, a healthy sister, is afraid of ghosts and brains, deep down, what Kat fears is not a mystery, but she is afraid of losing her sister. Fear makes her try to control everything, avoid the truth, to overlook happiness.

On the other hand, the book is very honest with the feelings of the elder through Caregiver Burnout, or the fatigue of his whole life being so tied to his illness that he secretly wants to have a real personal space for once, a dimension of humanity that anyone can be.

The book uses ghost stories and the Day of the Dead festival as the key to crystallization, that death is not the (terrible) end, but that memory, friendship, and love will always remain.

The visual and tonal work can be made out of the eye. Read for a moment (but gradually read and crystallize is very good). It is a book that children read and enjoy. Adults read it, it is understandable to let go and reduce their fear.
