As we step into 2025, I’ve been reflecting on one of the most transformative journeys of my life—my weight loss journey. Back in 2021, I made a decision to prioritize my health, and while I knew it wouldn’t be easy, I had no idea how much this journey would teach me about resilience, self-love, and perseverance.

Back in 2021, I was at my heaviest weight, 223 pounds. Today, I am 198 pounds and feeling great!

Huge thanks to my trainer, @Darius Varner, who continued to remind me that it wasn’t just about the number on the scale; it was about finding balance, building healthier habits, and discovering a version of myself I didn’t think was possible. Of course, it wasn’t always smooth sailing. There were setbacks, plateaus, and moments of doubt. But those challenges reminded me that progress isn’t linear—it’s about showing up, being kind to yourself, and staying committed to the bigger picture.

My fitness goals this year include: weight goal of 180 pounds, improving my mobility, building muscle, and participating in more outside activities (hiking, running, etc.)!

Today, I’m proud to say I’m healthier, stronger, and more confident than I’ve ever been!

Finding enjoyable activities is vital—consider group classes or outdoor sports that keep you enthusiastic and engaged. Mental health is equally significant; practicing self-compassion and celebrating small victories helps maintain motivation, even during tough times. Connecting with support communities, whether online or in-person, can provide encouragement and share valuable tips with like-minded individuals. As you create your personalized fitness journey, remember it's not solely about the end goals but also about enjoying the journey and the changes that come. With commitment and the right mindset, achieving your fitness aspirations is absolutely within reach. Stay focused and keep moving forward!
