Things a did to boost my milk supply !🥰
As a mama who's breastfed for three consecutive years & is about to start again, I thought I'd share what helped me out!
Sorry for my misspellings!
Boosting breast milk supply can be a journey that requires patience and consistent effort. Incorporating nutrient-rich foods such as oatmeal and various nuts—including cashews, almonds, walnuts, and macadamia nuts—can provide essential vitamins and minerals that support lactation and overall health. It’s important to maintain a balanced diet with leafy greens and adequate protein from meats to ensure your body meets the demands of milk production. Manual pumping, particularly power pumping, can effectively stimulate milk flow by mimicking a baby's natural feeding patterns. A suggested routine involves pumping for 20 minutes, resting for 10 minutes, then pumping again for 10 minutes followed by another 10-minute rest, possibly repeating the cycle, which encourages milk production by fully emptying the breasts. Using a manual breast pump while feeding on the other side can also help to increase milk output. Additional tips include taking warm showers and massaging the breasts to encourage milk letdown, especially when milk flow seems slow or paused. Breastfeeding mothers should also be cautious about nipple care; leaving some milk on the nipples after feeding can help prevent cracking. Regular feeding and pumping sessions create a supply-and-demand cycle vital for sustained milk production. These practices combined with self-care and consistency can greatly help mothers looking to boost their breast milk supply safely and naturally.
