What brands are looking for when they choose you☕️☕️

What brands are looking for when they choose to work with a UGC creator:

1. A strong portfolio with good examples of engaging videos

2. Videos with good lightning and high quality

3. That you are authentic, genuine, and confident in front of the camera

4. You understand UGC (using hooks, pacing, and engaging visuals)

5. Testimonials from previous work (social proof)

If you have these things in order, you are 10 steps ahead of the rest!

... Read moreBeyond the foundational elements like a strong portfolio and high-quality videos, many aspiring UGC CREATORS often ask, 'How do I truly stand out? What is that intangible 'it' factor brands are really LOOKING FOR?' My experience has shown me that cultivating a distinctive personal style and voice is absolutely crucial. It's not just about what you create, but how you create it, and the unique perspective you bring. Think about it: brands are inundated with content. To cut through the noise, you need to offer something memorable. This is where your 'creator style' comes into play. Firstly, identify your niche and passion. What topics genuinely excite you? When you create content around subjects you're passionate about, your authenticity shines through effortlessly. This passion translates into engaging energy on screen, making viewers more likely to connect with your message. My journey started when I realized that focusing on eco-friendly beauty products, something I truly cared about, made my content feel more genuine and attracted brands aligned with those values. Secondly, develop a consistent aesthetic and storytelling approach. This doesn't mean every video has to be identical, but there should be a recognizable thread – whether it's your editing style, color palette, humor, or the way you structure your narratives. For example, if you're known for quick, punchy tutorials, maintain that style. If you love in-depth reviews, lean into that. Brands want to know what they're getting when they collaborate with you, and a consistent style makes you predictable in a good way – it assures them of your quality and brand fit. I've found that having a signature intro and outro, or even a particular way I phrase calls to action, helps solidify my 'brand' even as a UGC creator. Thirdly, let your personality be your superpower. Being 'authentic, genuine, and confident in front of the camera' (as the original article mentions) isn't just about smiling; it's about letting your true self come forward. Don't be afraid to show your quirks, your humor, or your vulnerability (when appropriate). Brands are increasingly looking for creators who can build trust with their audience, and trust is built on genuine connection. If you're trying to be someone you're not, it will eventually show. I used to try to mimic popular creators, but it wasn't until I embraced my own slightly quirky, informative style that I started seeing real traction and interest from brands. Finally, continuously refine your understanding of what resonates. Pay attention to comments, engagement rates, and what types of content perform best for you. Your style isn't static; it evolves. But the core should always be rooted in who you are and what unique value you bring to the table. By consciously developing your distinct 'name style' as a UGC creator, you're not just creating videos; you're building a personal brand that brands will be eager to partner with.
