A Day in My Life: Hybrid Clinical Pharmacy Nurse💊
Whether I’m working from home or in the office, here’s what a typical day looks like for me:
1️⃣ I start by plugging in my modem & sip coffee (yes, gotta power up the work life 😅), check and respond to any emails that came in overnight.
2️⃣ I log into all the pharmacy systems and tools I need: (think insurance portals, claim systems, and communication platforms)
3️⃣ Then the real work begins! I dive into my prior authorization submission list which can be anywhere from 15 to 30 claims daily!
4️⃣ I review, process, and resolve any questions or missing clinical info based on the patient’s insurance & care plan. I assess for any duplicate medication therapy or contraindications for the patient.
5️⃣ Once I submit, I document everything including diagnosis, submission details, & notes so it’s clear, clean, and ready for the next step. (Which is re-billing any outstanding claims that ’s approved or documenting the denial reason)
📈 I have to complete at least 85% of my list daily, but the best part? I get to manage my own time as long as I hit my goals!
It’s fast-paced, detailed, and sometimes exhausting, but I truly enjoy the balance and flexibility that hybrid life brings ✨
