Let’s be real! Work burnout is real…Some days it’s hard to even roll out of bed and punch the clock, but survival mode keeps us going. Since becoming a pharmacy nurse, I’ve learned the value of balance. It meant taking a pay cut, but gaining peace of mind. 🧘🏾♀️Nursing takes compassion, empathy, advocacy, communication, education, and thoroughness. (All of which can leave you mentally and physically drained😅🥲)
✨ Here are some affirmations I lean on to keep pushing through the tough office days. 💛
🌸 Be happy with your beautiful life
☀️ Never stop looking up
💙 Make today so awesome yesterday gets jealous
🙏🏾 Start each day with a grateful heart
🤞🏾The best is yet to come
👩🏽🦱 I love the woman I’ve become because I fought for her

... Read moreIt’s incredible how a few simple words can shift your entire perspective, especially when facing the daily grind or the emotional demands of a job. I've found that truly embracing positive affirmations isn't just about repeating phrases; it's about internalizing them and letting them guide your actions and reactions. When I first started, I wasn't sure if saying "POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS" would really make a difference, but consistent practice has proven otherwise.
For me, the journey to combat work burnout began with a conscious effort to "start each day with a grateful heart." This isn't just a pretty phrase; it's a powerful exercise. Before I even get out of bed, I try to think of three things I'm genuinely grateful for. It could be as simple as a warm blanket, the sun shining, or having a cup of coffee. This small act immediately sets a positive tone, helping to reframe any anxieties about the day ahead. It’s like hitting a mental reset button.
Beyond just starting the day, I've learned to integrate affirmations into moments of stress. When things get tough, I mentally revisit phrases like "NEVER STOP looking up" or "THINGS WILL Work out." It’s a gentle reminder to maintain perspective and trust in my resilience. I also love the idea of creating a mindset where you "MAKE TODAY SO AWESOME THAT yesterday gets jealous." This really pushes me to make the most of every moment, even if it's just finding small joys in my work.
Another key aspect is self-compassion. In demanding roles, it's easy to be hard on yourself. That's why I often tell myself, "BE HAPPY WITH YOUR beautiful life," and remind myself to "Rest your mind. CALM YOUR HEART. Free your soul." This is particularly important when I feel overwhelmed. Taking a moment to breathe, step away, and repeat these words helps me recenter and prevents me from spiraling into negative thought patterns. It’s about being kind to myself, just as I would be to a friend.
I've also found immense value in visualizing my ideal day and outcomes. When I affirm that "THE BEST IS yet to come," it fills me with hope and motivation. It’s not about ignoring challenges, but about believing in your capacity to overcome them. Surrounding myself with little reminders, like a 'GOOD VIBES' sign or a planter, as seen in the images, also helps to reinforce this positive environment, creating a space where I can truly "STAY COOL" under pressure and maintain a sense of peace amidst the chaos.
