literary/women’s fiction books i want to read 📖

lately i’ve been so tired of reading the same old genres that I always read! i want to switch it up a little bit and read some more general fiction/women’s fiction books. I love when you’re following a female main character and there is more going on in her life other than a romance. More of a romance subplot with other important things going on. Not completely sure if all of these books are exactly that, but i guess we’ll see! they seem out of my comfort zone so I’m excited to try them!

Books focusing on female protagonists frequently tackle essential themes beyond romance, incorporating elements of personal growth, societal challenges, and friendship dynamics. For instance, titles like 'Cleopatra and Frankenstein' explore heavy themes like love and self-identity in a contemporary setting, making them resonate with many readers. Another recommended title is 'Woman Eating' by Claire Kohda, which cleverly fuses identity exploration with a unique twist in storytelling that embraces fantasy elements. This genre has been gaining popularity, especially among those who enjoy novels with depth and layers of emotional context. Readers often find joy in stories that reflect their lives or offer new perspectives, making women's fiction a brilliant choice.
