Curly hair essentials ✨🎀

When I was born I had the Shirley temple curls that everyone loves, but let me tell you they don’t come with a manual! When I was a teenager I had the thickest curls that I would have to thin my hair every two weeks and I didn’t know how to control them. Throughout the years my hair has become more tame and I have learned from different products. Some products that I recommend and use are in the pictures, but I have also listed some products and tips in the description below! 👇

**Tips for Gorgeous Curly Hair**

1. **Hydration is Key**: Curly hair tends to be drier, so use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Try the **SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo and Conditioner** (around $10 each at Target).

2. **Avoid Heat Styling**: Minimize heat use to prevent damage. Embrace air-drying or use a diffuser if you must blow-dry.

3. **Use a Wide-Tooth Comb**: Detangle hair while it's wet with a wide-tooth comb to reduce breakage. The **Crave Naturals Glide Thru Detangling Brush** (about $10 on Amazon) is a great choice.

4. **Deep Condition Regularly**: Treat your curls to a weekly deep conditioning. The **Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask** (approximately $36 at Sephora) is highly recommended.

5. **Define Curls with Styling Products**: Use curl-enhancing products to define and reduce frizz. The **DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel** (around $28 at Ulta) is a favorite.

6. **Protect at Night**: Sleep on a satin pillowcase or use a satin bonnet to reduce frizz and prevent breakage. The **Slip Silk Pillowcase** (about $89 at Sephora) offers both comfort and protection.

7. **Avoid Sulfates and Silicones**: Look for products free from sulfates and silicones to maintain moisture and avoid buildup. The **Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Defrizzing Shampoo** (around $30 at Ulta) fits this criteria.

**Where to Buy**: Most of these products are available at major retailers like Sephora, Ulta, Target, and Amazon.

Embrace and love your curls with these tips and products for stunning, healthy hair!

... Read moreCaring for curly hair requires a thoughtful approach that addresses its unique needs. To begin with, hydration is the cornerstone of healthy curls. Utilize sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners, like SheaMoisture, to maintain moisture balance. Equally important is minimizing heat. Opt for air drying or using a diffuser when blow drying to prevent damage. Consider incorporating weekly deep conditioning treatments with products such as the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask to restore moisture. Detangling is another crucial step. Always use a wide-tooth comb on wet hair to avoid breakage, and styling should focus on defining curls while reducing frizz. Products like DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel can help achieve this focus without weighing curls down. At night, protect your curls by sleeping on a satin pillowcase or wearing a satin bonnet. This helps to maintain curl definition and reduce friction. Remember, the right products can make all the difference in managing curly hair, so look for options that are free from sulfates and silicones to promote healthy hair growth. Embrace these practices, and watch your curls thrive like never before!
