October TBR 🍂
I'm finally on my way out of a reading slump and feel like I can share my current TBR ☺️ anyone else reading these?
I just finished Goldfinch last night and I'm so sad to see the Plated Prisoner Series end but it was so well done 😭 Auren will always be one of my top FMCs. She's courageous, strong willed, and so human which is a trait I love with my OP main characters. I love knowing that a character could burn down the world but they have just enough humanity to shut down that impulse unless someone they love is in danger. God tier trope.
(Also Slade is 🔥)

Okay, so while I was deep diving into the emotional rollercoaster of The Plated Prisoner Series finale (seriously, Auren, you're a legend!), I’ve also been curating my ultimate October TBR. And let me tell you, one book that's been constantly popping up on my radar, and that I'm so excited to finally get into, is Amid Gods and Bones. You might have seen it making rounds, and for good reason! I've been absolutely mesmerized by the buzz around this one, especially when it comes to the incredible fan art and aesthetic edits I’ve stumbled upon online. Seriously, just searching for "Amid Gods and Bones art" brings up a trove of stunning interpretations – from gorgeous character portraits to breathtaking landscape depictions of its world. It really gets my imagination going even before I've turned the first page! It's like the world-building is so vivid, artists can't help but bring it to life. I’m hoping to find some really lush descriptions within the book itself that match the visual feast I've seen. From what I’ve gathered, Amid Gods and Bones sounds like it's right up my alley, especially after enjoying the strength and complexity of Auren in The Plated Prisoner Series. I'm always on the hunt for those 'God tier trope' FMCs – characters who could absolutely burn down the world but choose not to, unless someone they love is in danger. That blend of immense power and deep humanity is just *chef's kiss*. I'm really hoping the main character in Amid Gods and Bones delivers on that front, and from what I've heard, she just might. I've even seen some incredible fan art depicting powerful scenes that hint at a truly formidable female lead, which makes me even more eager to start reading. The cover art alone is captivating, promising a rich, mythological-inspired setting. I’m a huge sucker for beautiful book covers that give you a hint of the epic journey within. It makes me wonder about the artists behind these creations – both official and fan-made – and how they capture the essence of the story so perfectly. Do you guys ever pick up a book just because the cover art speaks to you? For me, Amid Gods and Bones is definitely one of those. I'm picturing a world as intricately designed as the one in The Plated Prisoner Series, but with its own unique magical system and lore. I love books that transport you completely, and the idea of exploring a new realm filled with gods and ancient bones (the title itself is so evocative!) has me absolutely hooked. I'm hoping to discover some truly memorable scenes that will inspire my own imagination, maybe even enough to bookmark some passages for later visual reference. So, while I'm still processing the end of Slade and Auren's journey, I'm genuinely thrilled to dive into what promises to be another epic fantasy romance. Amid Gods and Bones seems to offer a fresh perspective on powerful characters and intricate plots, and I can't wait to see how it compares to some of my other favorite fantasy reads. If you've read it, or if you also have a book on your TBR that you're excited about because of its aesthetic or potential for amazing art, let me know in the comments! I'm always looking for more recommendations!
