How to NOT Annoy The Judge
🌀Let’s talk about that moment when the announcer says:
“Walk, please.”
And suddenly… it’s a solo performance.
We get it—really.
Some horses and/or don’t want to walk for long. You’re trying to time it right. Or you want to squeeze in one last fabulous pass.
BUT when you take… three… four or more passes while everyone else is walking, it’s less strategy, more holding the judge and the entire class hostage.
Here’s the thing:
✔️ Strategic pass? Great.
✔️ Walk after that? Ideal.
❌ Multiple extra passes while the rest of the class walks? Annoying.
Pro Tip:
✅ If the judge actually feels the need to call the next gait before you ever walk, you’ve officially:
1. Annoyed the judge
2. Skipped a required gait
3. Given us a reason to not place you first
And yes—we’ve all probably been there a time or two.
But here’s the truth:
⏱️ In most cases judges wait to call the next gait until everyone’s walking.
If we stop waiting for you?
It’s a major problem.
✨ Keep it clean. Keep it confident. Keep it courteous.
That’s what gets remembered—in a good way.
