Researchers from Xpanceo (Dubai) and Intra ‐ Ker (Italy) developed a prototype device intracorneal implant in the eye, to bypass the normal light path and send images straight into the retina, and can help blind people from corneal damage regain their sight, without transplantation of the eye lesions from donors at all.
Technology 🧠: Implants that are actually "visible"

- We have to wait for more than 12 million corneal donors worldwide to treat corneal damage.
- but only 185,000 patients per year can be transplanted.
And some people transplant and still can't see.
