... Read moreOkay, so you saw my quick post about adding Philips Evenglow LED strip lights behind my headboard, and honestly, it’s been a total game-changer for my bedroom aesthetic! I know a lot of you asked for more details, so I wanted to share a few extra tips on how you can achieve this super cozy and modern vibe in your own space. First off, why LED strips behind the headboard? For me, it was all about creating that perfect ambient glow without harsh overhead lights. It instantly makes the room feel more luxurious and inviting. Think movie nights, unwinding after a long day, or just setting a calm mood – indirect lighting does wonders! The Philips Evenglow strips are fantastic because they offer a really smooth, even light, and the color options are pretty versatile. But if you’re exploring other brands, I’ve heard good things about Sengled too, so definitely check out what works for your budget and preferences. Installation is surprisingly easy, I promise! Here’s what I did: Clean Surface First: Before anything else, make sure the back of your headboard (or the wall directly behind it) is clean and dry. This helps the adhesive stick properly. Measure and Plan: Unroll your LED strip and hold it up to see how you want to route it. I usually start from one corner, go across the top, and then down the other side, leaving the power cable neatly tucked away. Peel and Stick: Most LED strips come with an adhesive backing. Peel off a small section at a time and press the strip firmly onto the headboard. Take your time to get it straight! Cable Management: This is key for a clean look. Use small cable clips or zip ties to secure any loose wires. My Philips Evenglow came with a remote, so I made sure the receiver wasn't hidden where it couldn't pick up signals. Now, let’s talk about the magic: the lighting itself! I love how I can dim my Philips Evenglow strips to just a soft whisper of light or brighten them up for a more functional glow. If you get RGB (Red, Green, Blue) strips, you can experiment with different colors to match your mood or decor. Warm white is my go-to for that hotel-like serenity, but a soft blue or purple can be really calming too. Beyond aesthetics, these strips are also super energy-efficient and last a really long time, which is a bonus. I found mine on Amazon (shoutout to #amazonfinds!), and there are tons of options out there. It’s a relatively inexpensive way to totally elevate my bedroom with me without a huge renovation. Trust me, once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without that dreamy headboard glow!
