Grandma’s ✨Secret Tuna Salad Recipe
The secret 🤫 is out the bag and there is no putting her back now😂 My FAVORITE cheap and easy lunch 🥗 salad has been exposed. It’s a tuna salad.
This lunch comes together in 10 minutes or less and you can eat on it for the next few days! The cost 💲 is under $10 as well so that’s a huge bonus!
I don’t measure the seasoning because I’ve been making this for so long but it’s about 1-2tbsp of each seasoning except for the celery salt or salt, and pepper (which is just a few cracks).
Try this recipe out and lmk what you think!

Grandma’s secret tuna salad recipe is not only delicious but also versatile and economical, making it an ideal option for quick lunches or meal prep. The recipe typically includes canned chunk light tuna, mayonnaise, sweet relish, chopped vegetables like celery and onions, and optional boiled eggs for added protein. A key to the flavor lies in the carefully balanced seasoning blend: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Old Bay, peppercorns, celery salt, and sea salt. These spices bring depth and a unique taste, while the exact amounts can be adjusted to preference. Using a peppercorn grinder ensures fresh ground pepper which enhances the overall flavor. To prepare, one simply mixes the drained tuna with chopped vegetables and boiled eggs if desired, then adds wet ingredients such as mayonnaise and sweet relish. The seasonings are stirred in last, allowing the flavors to meld. This combination creates a creamy, tangy, and savory salad perfect for sandwiches, wraps, or as a standalone meal with crackers or salad greens. Budget-conscious cooks will appreciate that the entire recipe costs under $10 and can be made in ten minutes or less, ensuring a nutritious, homemade meal without breaking the bank. Additionally, the salad keeps well in the fridge for several days, making it a convenient option for packed lunches or quick dinners. For those interested in variation, substituting chicken in place of tuna works well and offers a different protein profile. This flexibility is another reason why it is a popular and practical recipe passed down through generations. Whether for school lunches, office meals, or a simple weekday dinner, Grandma’s secret tuna salad remains a timeless favorite with widespread appeal.
