✨Lentil & Sausage Soup 🍲 ✨Fall 🍁 Fav
This soup is one of my classic soups to make when I’m not feeling well and doubles as a bonus because it’s also one of my husband’s favorite soup!
🥣 All you have to do is make sure to clean and leave your lentils overnight so they are soft enough to cook or use a canned version and it’s all good to go🙌🏽 I add all types of veggies 🥕 & herbs & bone broth to enhance the flavor, vitamins, & minerals in this soup. I add sausage because I lose my appetite when I’m sick. 🤒 Is anyone else like this?
Anywho, try this out and lmk what you think 🤔 Also..did you see my adorable personal sized Dutch ovens??!? 🥰
⚠️ If you want the visual 🎥 recipe just say the word and I’ll post it❤️🫶🏽🙌🏽

If you’re looking to boost your soup’s nutritional value while enjoying a comforting meal, incorporating bone broth as mentioned in the recipe is a smart choice. Bone broth is rich in collagen, minerals, and amino acids, which support gut health and immunity—especially important when you’re feeling sick. When preparing the lentils, soaking them overnight not only softens the legumes but also helps reduce cooking time and improves digestibility, which can ease digestion during illness. Adding a variety of vegetables like carrots, celery, and onions enhances not only the flavor of this soup but also increases its vitamin and mineral content, providing a balanced meal that fuels recovery. Including herbs such as thyme or rosemary can add a fragrant aroma and offer antioxidant properties. For those who might lose their appetite when ill, the addition of sausage provides extra protein and fats that can help maintain energy levels. If you prefer, you can opt for lean versions like chicken or turkey sausage to keep the dish lighter but still satisfying. Using personal-sized Dutch ovens, as mentioned, is a cozy and practical way to serve individual portions, keeping the soup warm longer and adding a charming presentation touch. This can make mealtime more enjoyable, especially on chilly fall days. Lastly, if you enjoy visual step-by-step guidance, requesting a video recipe can offer helpful insights and tips to perfect this comforting soup. Feel free to experiment by switching up the veggies or spices to suit your taste or dietary preferences while keeping the core nourishing elements intact.
