Church Focus IPad Help

I created a focus mode for church and Bible studies, but I need help.

What are some of your favorite apps to use?

I plan on purchasing good notes and procreate, but I just haven’t gotten there yet. Who are your favorite Christian creators for doodling, planning, and journaling?

Also any tips and tricks will help because I’m brand new to the iPad gang. 🤎

... Read moreIt's so exciting to set up a new iPad for spiritual growth! I totally get wanting to create a dedicated 'church focus' mode. It makes such a difference in minimizing distractions. As someone who's been exploring the 'bible app ipad' world for a while, let me share some of my go-to apps and tips that might help you, especially since you're brand new to the iPad gang! First off, for core Bible reading and study, YouVersion Bible App is a must-have, and it's free! It has countless translations, reading plans, audio Bibles, and allows you to highlight, bookmark, and make private notes right within the text. It’s perfect for following along during sermons or doing daily devotions. Another fantastic option, if you're looking for something more in-depth, is Olive Tree Bible App or even Logos Bible Software (though Logos has a steeper learning curve and can be pricey, the free version offers a lot!). Olive Tree is great for personal study with its vast library of commentaries and dictionaries you can add on. For quick verse lookups and strong's concordance, Blue Letter Bible is an excellent free resource too. You mentioned Goodnotes and Procreate, and you're absolutely on the right track! While Procreate is fantastic for artistic journaling and doodling (you can import Bible verses or templates and get really creative!), Goodnotes excels for structured note-taking and digital journaling. Imagine having all your sermon notes, Bible study reflections, and prayer requests organized in digital notebooks. You can create custom templates, import PDFs (like sermon outlines!), and use the Apple Pencil to write naturally. I love using a split-screen view with Goodnotes open on one side and a Bible app on the other – it’s a game-changer for deep study! You can even create a 'Verse of the Day' widget using Goodnotes templates or a dedicated app like "Bible Verse of the Day" to keep scripture prominent on your home screen, just like that image with Psalms 27:4 you might have seen! Beyond specific apps, here are a few general iPad tips that have made my spiritual journey smoother: Focus Modes: You’re already thinking about this, which is brilliant! Set up a custom Focus Mode for 'Church' or 'Bible Study' that only allows notifications from essential apps (maybe just your Bible app or a note-taking app) and dims apps you don't need. This was a game-changer for me. Widgets: Utilize your home screen widgets! Besides a 'Verse of the Day', you can add quick access to your favorite Bible app, a journal entry in Goodnotes, or even a 'Tracker' for reading plans. Scribble & Apple Pencil: If you have an Apple Pencil, get comfortable with the Scribble feature. You can handwrite directly into text fields in almost any app, converting it to text. It’s so convenient for quick notes. Files App Organization: Keep all your digital Bible study resources (PDFs, images, templates) organized in the Files app or a cloud service. This makes them easy to access from any of your study apps. Regarding Christian creators for doodling, planning, and journaling, there are so many talented individuals! While I can't name specific authors here, searching platforms like Etsy, YouTube, or Instagram for 'digital Bible journaling' or 'Christian iPad planner' will open up a world of beautiful templates, sticker sets, and tutorials. Many offer freebies to get you started. Look for creators who provide Goodnotes-specific templates or Procreate brushes if that's what you're leaning towards. Embrace your new iPad as a powerful tool for spiritual growth. It takes a little experimenting to find what works best for you, but the journey of discovering new ways to engage with the Word is so rewarding! Keep that 'BUT GOD' mindset as you explore – He's truly amazing!

I use YouVersion Bible app with the widget; Abide app, the Apple Pages for taking notes, I also have Audible because it have devotionals and books I’m into (women of the Bible), I also have the free version of procreate and I have Goodnotes downloaded I just haven’t used it yet. Also, I use the woman anxiety color app.
