Easter Basket: Toddler Edition
You don’t need a big budget to make a cute Easter basket for your toddler
I really wanted to be intentional with my son’s Easter basket this year. He is almost two, so I focused on things he will actually use and enjoy daily. I kept everything practical, budget friendly, and supportive of his sensory needs, while still making it feel fun and festive.
Instead of buying a new basket, I reused his little wheelbarrow from last year. It still works perfectly and saved money. This is such an easy way to keep Easter simple without sacrificing the experience.
I also thrifted his books. Giving preloved books a second life is one of my favorite ways to save money, and he loves having new stories to flip through. I found a few Easter themed toddler books that made it feel special without overspending.
For his basket, I focused on low stimulation, toddler friendly items that support learning and play
• A coloring book because he loves to color and it helps with fine motor skills
• Easter books for simple, seasonal learning
• A duck since it is his favorite animal
• Bunny ears so he can match his cousins for our family Easter
I skipped candy this year since he is still so little and we limit that at home. He will still get treats from egg hunts and family events, so I didn’t feel like it was necessary to include it in his basket.
This was my way of creating a bright, colorful Easter basket that feels exciting for a toddler, but still realistic for a budget. You can make it cute, meaningful, and sensory friendly without spending a lot.
