Blinged out Labubus
OMG, you guys! I'm SO excited to share my latest obsession: custom blinged-out Labubu plushies! If you're anything like me, you've probably fallen in love with these adorable, mischievous-looking characters created by the talented artist Kenny Wong. Their big eyes and smiling mouths just capture your heart, right? But what if you could make them even more unique and personal? That's exactly what I set out to do, and let me tell you, the results are absolutely worth it! For those new to the world of art toys, Labubu is part of The Monsters series by Hong Kong artist Kenny Wong. These creatures are known for their playful, sometimes cheeky expressions, and they come in various forms, from blind box figures to larger fluffy plush toys. I've always been drawn to their charm, and once I got my hands on a couple, I knew I wanted to give them a special touch. My journey into customization started with a simple idea: how can I make my Labubus sparkle? I had this super cute pink and yellow plush Labubu, and I pictured it adorned with some serious glam. For my second one, a lovely mint green Labubu, I wanted something a bit more themed. Being a huge fan, Marvel-themed charms were the perfect fit! Why Customize Your Labubu? For me, it's all about expressing creativity and making something truly my own. While original Labubus are fantastic, adding personal flair makes them incredibly special. It’s like giving your beloved toy a unique personality that reflects yours! Plus, it's a super fun and relaxing DIY project. What You'll Need to Bling Out Your Labubu: Your Labubu Plush: Make sure it's clean. Rhinestones & Embellishments: I used various sizes and colors of rhinestones for ultimate sparkle. Think chains, studs, or tiny pearls too! Charms: For my mint green Labubu, I collected small Marvel-themed charms. You could go for any theme you love – food, animals, gaming, anything! Fabric Glue: Crucial! Make sure it’s suitable for fabric and dries clear. E6000 or Gem-Tac are popular. Tweezers or Wax Pen: These tools make picking up and placing tiny embellishments much easier. Patience: Customization takes time, but it’s so rewarding! My Blinged-Out Process: Plan Your Design: Before gluing, I laid out my rhinestones and charms on paper, envisioning the pattern for my pink and yellow Labubu. For the mint green one, I decided where each Marvel charm would go. This helps visualize! Clean the Surface: Gently wipe down the area of your fluffy Labubu where you plan to apply embellishments. Apply Glue & Embellishments: Working in small sections, apply a thin layer of fabric glue. Carefully place your rhinestones using tweezers. For the chain on my pink and yellow Labubu, I glued it along its body for an edgy look. Attach Charms: For the Marvel-themed charms, I used a stronger adhesive to ensure they stayed put on the mint green plush. Let It Dry: This is the hardest part! You must let everything dry completely, usually for 24-48 hours, before handling. I displayed mine on a wooden surface to keep them safe while drying. Seeing my two fluffy Labubu plush toys, one sparkling pink and yellow with rhinestones and a chain, and the other mint green with those awesome Marvel-themed charms, displayed on my shelf, just brings a huge smile to my face. Both have their signature large eyes and smiling mouths, but now they also have a unique story. If you have a Labubu figure or plush that you adore, I highly recommend giving customization a try. It’s a fantastic way to personalize your collection and dive into a creative hobby. What themes or bling would you add to your Labubu?
