My Favorite Christmas Movies:

Christmas with the Kranks: I absolutely ADORE this movie!! This is one of my parents favorites too :) it’s funny, sweet, I cry every time I watch it too 😭

The Muppets Christmas Carol: need I say more? It’s literally the Muppets.

Ernest Saves Christmas: MY FAV!!! Ernest is like that uncle who is always getting into a random, unhinged side quest. I love him- After you watch the Christmas movies you gotta watch all the other Ernest movies too 🙂‍↔️

While You Were Sleeping: this movie tears me UP. I love it so good. Most people don’t label it as a Christmas movie, but it’s set during that time sooo, I’ll take it!

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas: By far the best Mickey Christmas movie- it goes through several mini (pun-intended) stories including The Gift of the Magi. So heartfelt, I love!

... Read moreOkay, so let's talk a bit more about *Christmas with the Kranks*. Seriously, if you haven't seen this one, you're missing out on some serious holiday cheer! For me, it's not just a Christmas movie; it's a yearly ritual. Every time Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis appear on screen as Luther and Nora Krank, I know I'm in for a laugh-out-loud, yet surprisingly heartfelt, experience. What makes it so special? Well, for starters, the premise is genius. A couple decides to skip Christmas entirely and go on a cruise, only for their daughter to unexpectedly decide to come home. The mad dash to get everything ready in less than 24 hours is pure comedic gold. I mean, who hasn't felt that last-minute holiday stress, even without trying to boycott Christmas? Luther's antics, from trying to 'frosty-proof' his house to the hilarious botox incident, are just classic Tim Allen. And Jamie Lee Curtis as Nora? She perfectly embodies the frantic, loving mother trying to juggle her husband's wild ideas with her daughter's sudden return. Their chemistry is just undeniable, making you root for them even through all the chaos. One of my favorite things about Christmas with the Kranks is how it perfectly captures the spirit of community. Even though the Kranks initially want to opt out, their neighbors' reactions and eventual rallying to help them is such a sweet, underlying message about what the holidays are really about. It reminds me of those small-town Christmases where everyone pitches in. You see glimpses of that festive spirit not just from the main characters, but also in the background details, like the decorated houses (as shown on the tablet screen when I was browsing!). The film truly highlights how unexpected twists can often lead to the most memorable holiday moments. If you're looking for a film that combines slapstick comedy with genuinely touching moments, this is it. It’s the kind of movie you can watch with your whole family, year after year, and still find new things to love. It’s got that perfect blend of humor, a little bit of absurdity, and a whole lot of heart that makes it stand out in the crowded field of Christmas films. Plus, it's such a great reminder that sometimes, the best laid plans for simplicity can turn into the most memorable and chaotic adventures. What I really appreciate is how it shows you don't need a picture-perfect holiday for it to be meaningful. The imperfection and the scramble are what make it real and relatable. So next time you're scrolling through Disney+ (yes, it's often available there, which makes it super easy to watch!), give Christmas with the Kranks a go. It might just become your new favorite holiday tradition, bringing smiles and perhaps even a few happy tears, just like it does for me every year. Finding that perfect movie to curl up with during the festive season is a joy in itself, and this one consistently delivers. You won't regret it – it truly is a holiday gem!
