And so am I.

My world seems to be falling apart.

Trying to hold everything together by the seams.

But seeing it slowing being pulled apart.

The threads are breaking, the waters rising.

I’m exhausted.

I keep swimming against the tide.

Scared if I get out of this, what will I find?

Stuck in a situation I want no part of.

I just want to stop and breathe.

To catch my breath.

Each time I try I end up with a mouth full of water.

I’m left gasping for air.

I keep swimming. I need to make it to my kids.

I need to survive. To live.

I need to show them it can be done.

But at what cost?

There’s so much at stake here.

I’m at my breaking point.

There’s no stopping now.

Not when I can see the shoreline.

Not when I can see my kids, playing and splashing.

I’ll keep pushing and pushing.

I’ll get to where I need to be.

I’ll become who I needed when I was a kid.

I’ll become the person my kids believe I am.

The tide is changing.

And so am I.

Many face moments of doubt, especially parents who strive to be a source of strength for their children while battling their inner fears. Embracing vulnerability is a critical first step in this journey. When we allow ourselves to feel and express our struggles, we not only validate our own experiences but also model resilience for those we love. Parenting can amplify these feelings, as the weight of responsibility grows heavier in times of crisis. Managing mental health while raising children requires a delicate balance between self-care and ensuring that our kids feel secure and supported. Having honest conversations about our feelings can destigmatize mental health issues and pave the way for deeper connections with loved ones. Support networks are essential; connecting with other parents facing similar challenges can provide emotional relief and practical advice. Online communities and support groups focusing on mental health, such as #embracevulnerability and #honestthoughts, can foster an environment where sharing experiences becomes a source of strength. Ultimately, every parent can draw from their struggles and triumphs to become the role model their children need. The journey may be fraught with difficulty, but through perseverance, we can emerge stronger and more capable of weathering life's storms together.
