3 Reasons You Don't Need Closure

Sometimes, we trick ourselves into thinking closure is a conversation, an apology, or an explanation that will magically make the pain stop.

But let me tell you something hard to hear:

Closure doesn’t come from them. It comes from you.

They ghosted? That’s your answer.

They pulled away? That’s the clarity you’re looking for.

It’s okay to feel hurt, but don’t stay there.

And as much as it hurts, the faster you accept what is, the faster you’ll heal.

Life is never happening to you. It’s happening for you.

When things fall apart, it’s not because you weren’t enough.

It’s because you’re being redirected to something better -- to someone who’s actually worthy of your energy.

💡 Use our guided journals to write the letter you’ll never send. Rip it up, and then close that chapter.

Because here’s the truth: letting go isn’t easy, but holding on will always cost you more.

Choose you. 💕

... Read moreWe've all been there, searching for that elusive 'closure' after a difficult experience or a painful breakup. You scroll through old messages, replay conversations, or even dream of a confrontation that will magically make everything make sense. I know I certainly did. For years, I clung to the idea that I needed an external apology or a clear explanation to truly move on and find peace. But what if I told you that waiting for someone else to provide that 'closure' is actually keeping you stuck? My journey to finding emotional closure taught me that the peace we crave isn't something someone else can give us; it's something we cultivate within ourselves. One of the most powerful mindset shifts for me was realizing that LIFE ISN'T REJECTING YOU. IT'S REDIRECTING YOU. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong or what I lost, I started practicing gratitude for the lessons learned. Every setback, every disappointment, I began to see as a redirection towards something better, something more aligned with my true self. This didn't mean ignoring the pain, but rather reframing it as a growth opportunity, which slowly but surely brought a sense of peace. Another crucial step was learning to SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT (WITH YOURSELF). CLOSURE DOESN'T COME FROM THEM — IT STARTS WITH YOU. This meant having honest conversations with myself about my feelings, my expectations, and what I truly needed to heal. It wasn't about blaming, but about acknowledging my own role and feelings in the situation. I realized I was holding onto a narrative that kept me a victim, and by taking responsibility for my own emotional well-being, I started to regain control. This internal shift was incredibly empowering and was the real start of my emotional closure. Following the advice to WRITE THE LETTER YOU'LL NEVER SEND was surprisingly therapeutic. It gave me a safe space to pour out every single thought, frustration, and unanswered question without fear of judgment or repercussion. I wrote about the hurt, the confusion, and what I wished I could say. Afterward, tearing it up or deleting it felt like a physical release, symbolizing that LETTING GO ISN'T WEAKNESS — IT'S MAKING SPACE FOR WHAT YOU DESERVE. It helped me process complex emotions and understand that I didn't need a response from the other person to validate my feelings or to move forward. Finally, a practical step that made a huge difference was to UNFOLLOW THE TRIGGERS. Whether it was social media accounts, old photos, or places that brought back difficult memories, I consciously removed them from my daily life. It sounds simple, but OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND ISN'T JUST A SAYING. Minimizing constant reminders allowed my mind to create new pathways, focus on the present, and eventually, heal more completely. This wasn't about forgetting, but about creating distance and space for new, healthier experiences. Ultimately, finding peace and emotional closure isn't about getting answers from someone else; it's about choosing yourself. It's about recognizing your strength, processing your emotions, and actively making space for the life you deserve. You have the power to close your own chapters and find your own peace, regardless of what anyone else does.

I agree on this too often do we need some resolution from the person that caused the issue but we need to feel resolved from within and that can really only come from self.
