Weekend Itinerary: Cape Cod + Nantucket

If you’ve never been to Cape Cod or Nantucket you seriously need to add it to your list of summer places to visit.

New England is so different from any other part of the country. It prides itself on its history, charm, and quaint quiet atmosphere.

If you’re looking for ideas on places to stay and restaurants to check out, this was what our itinerary looked like.

We drove up on Friday and stayed at the Bluebird Parker Beach Lodge. It’s a newly renovated motel with a gorgeous pool right across from the beach in the centrally located town of South Yarmouth.

For breakfast you HAVE to go to Woolfies, an old school bakery in the town next door: Dennisport.

For dinner we walked to the restaurant down the street called Skippers Chowder House and ordered the clam chowder, fried oyster roll, and fisherman’s platter. New England is known for their fried seafood and clam chowder, it’s a must if you visit.

The next day we woke up early and drove to Hyannisport to board the 1 hour ferry to Nantucket. A beautiful island off the coast of Cape Cod. It’s covered in hydrangeas, old beautiful homes, gorgeous boutiques, cobblestone roads, and plenty of restaurants. A must if you decide to visit New England.

If you’re looking for good lobster rolls here try Walters Deli. They’re HUGE and not that expensive.

Some boutiques I reccommend: Nomad, For Now, Freedman’s, Nantucket Bookworks, and all the small shops along Straight Wharf Road

On Sunday we drove to Chatham, one of Cape Cod’s most beautiful coastal towns. They have the cutest Main Street. In the afternoon we walked to the Chatham lighthouse and sat on the beach. There was hardly anyone around on a holiday weekend no less. The Jersey shore could never!

For dinner that night we went to Cleat and Anchor in Dennisport and ordered the clam chowder fries. SO GOOD. Highly recommend.
