Some of my anatomy/physiology labeling
Anatomy and physiology play crucial roles in understanding human health. The cardiac cycle, for instance, involves a series of electrical and mechanical events that regulate heart function. During atrial systole, the atria contract to fill the ventricles with blood. This is followed by ventricles contracting during ventricular systole, propelling blood into the aorta and pulmonary artery. Key terms in this process include the 'SA node,' which initiates the heartbeat by generating electrical impulses leading to atrial contraction, and the 'AV node,' which delays these impulses to ensure the ventricles fill completely before they contract. Understanding these concepts is essential for healthcare professionals and students in the field, as they lay the groundwork for further studies in human anatomy and medical science. For a visual representation, many resources feature diagrams illustrating these phases, helping learners grasp these complex processes effectively.
