witches and faeries 🗡️
Book one and book five are my favorites—exciting beginning and bittersweet ending 🥹 I’m already missing this series!
p.s., book 3 is F/F romance & book 4 is M/M romance 🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
You know that feeling when you finish an incredible book series and immediately want to reread it? That's exactly how I feel about A.K. Mulford's 'The Five Crowns of Okrith' series. I devoured every single page, and honestly, I'm already experiencing a major book hangover. If you're into romantasy with rich world-building, magical creatures, and truly compelling characters, you absolutely have to pick this up! From the moment I started 'The High Mountain Court' (Book One), I was hooked. The world of Okrith is so beautifully crafted, filled with the intrigue of fae courts, powerful witches, and ancient magic. The initial journey of the protagonist immediately pulls you in, setting the stage for an epic adventure. It’s rare for a first book in a series to feel so complete yet leave you so eager for more. This book does it flawlessly, introducing you to stakes and relationships that will keep you invested for the long haul. And then there’s 'The Amethyst Kingdom' (Book Five) – what a perfect, albeit bittersweet, ending. It ties everything together in such a satisfying way, showing the growth of the characters we've come to love through all the trials and triumphs. Finishing it felt like saying goodbye to old friends, but in the best possible way, knowing their stories concluded beautifully. For me, these two, Book One and Book Five, truly stand out as the shining stars of the series, providing both an exhilarating beginning and a deeply emotional resolution. But let's not forget the incredible journey in between! Each book adds layers to the overarching story. While my original post mentions my top picks, I also loved diving into the complexities presented in books like 'The Witches Blade', 'The Rogue Crown', and 'The Evergreen Heir'. They each bring unique perspectives and challenges that build towards that fantastic finale. One of the things I truly adore about 'The Five Crowns of Okrith' is the inclusivity. It's so refreshing to see genuine, heartfelt F/F romance in Book Three and M/M romance in Book Four woven naturally into the narrative. It adds so much depth and representation to the romantasy genre, making the series feel even more vibrant and real. It’s not just a token inclusion; these relationships are central to the characters' development and the plot itself. If you're looking for a series that combines epic fantasy with heartwarming romance, unforgettable characters, and a touch of magic (and plenty of witches and faeries, of course!), then 'The Five Crowns of Okrith' should be next on your TBR pile. Trust me, you won't regret it. I'm already planning my reread!

I love seeing my friend's books in the wild🥰
