I was really looking forward to this one after loving book three (still my favorite in the series). Overall, I enjoyed it, though it didn’t completely pull me in—I felt like something was missing. The insta-lust wasn’t for me (I’m definitely more of a slow-burn girly), BUT I did love the playful banter between Haden and Cassie. I also thought the mental health portrayal was handled really well. Cassie’s perspective of putting up a strong front while feeling overwhelmed inside was so real.
All in all, I’m grateful to have had the chance to read this one early, and I’ll be eagerly awaiting the final book in the Silver Pines series.
