Meet Jonesy Blue! The ultimate social butterfly who’s ready to find his playmate for life! This super wiggly, happy-go-lucky boy loves everyone he meets, greeting friends with a wagging tail, loose body, and plenty of affection. He’s all about the pets, rubs, and cuddles—and he’s not shy about asking for attention! Jonesy Blue’s favorite thing? Playtime! He’s energetic, playful, and will patiently sit and wait for you to join the fun. If you’re taking too long, he might give you a little whine to remind you he’s ready to go! He already knows how to sit and is a pro at taking treats politely. This sweet boy is loose, comfortable, and fully open to affection - all you have to give, making him a joy to be around. Jonesy Blue would do best in a home where any children are over the age of 10 due to his goofy personality. He did not do well meeting another dog at the shelter, so may prefer to be the one and only pup in the home. Jonesy Blue is searching for a home where he can share his boundless energy, big heart, and love for play. Could that home be with you? BEHAVIOR:
Per staff 12/15: As soon as Jonesy walked out the door and saw the other dog, his whole body stiffened with his tail straight out and was lip licking. We moved a little closer with a fence between us, and he had a high wagging tail and furrowed brow. When the other dog barked (wanted to say hi to him), Jonesy growled. We did not feel comfortable proceeding to a walk along at that time.
Per volunteer 12/15: Little strong but is very playful.
Per volunteer 12/14: Jonesy Blue is very housebroken and almost pooped his pants waiting to get outside. Fortunately we made it. He’s always smiling and is a happy dog even though he has a cold. He’s very sweet and tail waggy in his kennel. He loves to snuggle up and get all over body rubs. What a cuddly guy!
Per volunteer 12/12: Jonesy Blue was a very sweet boy and relatively easy on the leash. He appears to be good with other dogs and didn't show any leash aggression during our outing.
Per volunteer 12/10: Seems housebroken, knows sit, so sweet, easy to handle, treat motivated. Very good boy.
Per volunteer 12/7: Loves to explore and sniff on walks, pulls on leash but is such a lover boy. Seems housebroken. Sits really well.
Per volunteer 12/7: Jonesy Blue couldn’t go see Santa today because of a doggy cold but was very grateful for his toy with some sweet tail wags.

Per volunteer 12/3: Seems to like other dogs.
Per volunteer 12/2: Jonesy Blue is a fun loving guy! While I was taking out another dog, he flagged me down from his kennel and asked if he could go out too with some grunts. He might be housebroken because he went to the bathroom once outside. This guy loves to run and jump. He probably has a four foot vertical! He was snuffling around, getting some zoomies, leaning in for full body pets, sitting for treats, doing it all. Jonesy is really friendly and happy. He walks around with a big smile on and a wiggly body. Jonesy will bring lots of joy, love, and energy to his forever family and he’s hoping to find one who will love him just as much.
Per volunteer 12/1: No interest in toys but loved to zoom and leap and sit for all over pets.
Per volunteer 12/1: Easy to leash and return, knows sit, likes to zoom around, a bit jumpy.
Per staff 12/1: Very chill, wants to play with other dogs.

Jonesy Blue was in front of his kennel with a wagging tail and soft eyes. He jumped up on the bars and was easily leashed. He pummeled out when I secured him and was jumping all around.

HANDLING:
In the room, Jonesy Blue was super wiggly and superrrr social. He greeted all the handlers with a wagging tail and loose body, pushing his body all over the handlers and jumping all over for pets and rubs. He is a bit aroused and loves to play. He knows how to sit and is very patient for getting treats. He sits and waits for you to play with him, whining at you if you don't pay attention to him. He allowed all handling and was super loose.

Per staff 11/30: Bright, alert, and responsive, sweet, goofy.
MEDICAL:
On 12/5, Jonesy was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI) or "doggy cold" and started on medication. He tested negative for pneumovirus.
On 12/4, Jonesy was prescribed a course of trazodone due to being anxious in kennel and destroying his bedding.
During his intake exam on 11/30, Jonesy’s eyes and ears were red. His eyes and nose were clear and his ears were a little dirty. He had moderate tartar and a broken canine tooth, dandruff, and did not have fleas.
