In 1995, Pixar, under the direction of John Lasseter, released the first movie with CGI, but to say that Toy Story was just a baby movie, it would have been very missed, because since the first frame, it was talking about something much more painful: the fear of being forgotten...

🤠 Sheriff Woody The Sheriff, Andy's room number one toy, who has always been number one on the shelves and in the heart of that boy, must have been shaky when Buzz Lightyear, a new toy, unboxed, who came to Astronaut's favorite skin, showed up in bed on behalf of a cool birthday present, not because Buzz was bad, because Buzz was great, that was the most painful.

That's it. Everything changed...

Woody, in the corner of the man who was number one, had been picked up before, had been thought of before, what to do, what to adapt, when one day the position disappeared without anyone telling us in advance.

Toy Story Part 1 therefore doesn't talk about jealousy; it talks about identity tied to being accepted by others; a sense of self-worth that depends on external conditions; if Andy picks me up...I'm precious. If any day Andy doesn't pick up. Who am I?

One of the best scenes is when Buzz discovers he's just a toy, sitting on the stairs on a dark night, the camera slowly retreats, revealing him getting smaller and smaller, the man who thought he was guarding the universe, and now he's just a toy on the shelf waiting for someone to pick him up.

Woody and Buzz are therefore like two sides of the same person; one is afraid of himself not being enough.

The other just knows that he is not what he thinks...

...But both face the same question.

"Can I be worthy by myself? Without relying on anyone's eyes."

Toy Story doesn't answer that question exactly, it just puts it in front of us and leaves it in the chest, because sometimes the question without the answer is the most important question.
