I love the beach! The Oregon coast is a special place for me. The small towns along the Oregon coast have the charm I crave. The water is cold and the sky is beautiful. I can get lost in the waves and calmness. This is a place I want to live one day! #oregoncoast #travel #peace

... Read moreThe Oregon Coast holds a truly special place in my heart, and I often find myself dreaming of its rugged beauty and serene atmosphere. It’s more than just a destination; it’s an experience that rejuvenates the soul. For anyone wondering why this stretch of coastline consistently ranks as a favorite, let me share what makes it so incredibly captivating. One of the first things you'll notice is the sheer drama of the landscape. Picture vast stretches of sandy beaches, often with a delightful sandy foreground, where the mighty Pacific crashes in mesmerizing waves. Even on a partly cloudy sky day, the light plays beautifully, creating an ever-changing canvas. The cool, crisp air itself is invigorating, a stark and welcome contrast to warmer climes, and it's perfect for long, contemplative walks. You can truly get lost in the calmness, feeling the ocean breeze and listening to the rhythmic roar of the waves – it’s pure peace. These expansive beaches are also fantastic for our furry friends; I've seen many happy light-colored dogs, possibly Labradors, romping joyfully near the water's edge, tongues out, embodying the freedom of the coast. The infectious smiles of people enjoying the ocean, much like those captured in photos, really sum up that “MY FAVORITE PLACE ON EARTH!” feeling. If you're planning a visit, the Oregon Coast offers a diverse array of charming towns and natural wonders, each with its own unique appeal. Cannon Beach: This iconic town is a must-see, famous for its towering Haystack Rock. It’s perfect for beachcombing, exploring tide pools at low tide, and admiring the dramatic rock formations. The town itself is incredibly picturesque, with art galleries, boutiques, and cozy cafes that make for a perfect afternoon stroll after a refreshing walk on the sand. Pacific City: For a slightly more laid-back vibe, Pacific City offers stunning views of Cape Kiwanda, another impressive sandstone monolith. You can watch the traditional Dory boats launch directly from the beach, or enjoy a craft brew at the beachfront Pelican Brewing Company while taking in the sunset. The expansive beaches here are fantastic for bonfires and simply relaxing. While not a specific town, don't miss the opportunity for storm watching in the winter months. The raw power of the ocean during a winter storm is a breathtaking spectacle, best enjoyed from a cozy, oceanfront cabin. Year-round, you can also uncover hidden gems by exploring the numerous state parks and natural areas that offer incredible hiking trails with panoramic ocean views and opportunities for wildlife spotting. Whether you're seeking adventure, tranquility, or simply a beautiful backdrop for relaxation, the Oregon Coast delivers. It’s a place that calls you back again and again, and I genuinely hope to call it home one day. It’s truly a destination where every visit feels like rediscovering your favorite place.

I spent 10 days roadtripping the states of Oregon and parts of Washington . Of those, we spent a couple of days driving the Oregon Coast, and honestly, it’s one of the most , if not the best, scenic drives in the U.S. I had this on my bucket list for many years and I cant wait to go back.
