He called me ungrateful 😬

My birthday’s coming up, and my husband loves surprising me which I appreciate! But for the past few years, he’s been giving me stuff I don’t want, like board games and figurines. We already have too many, and I even told him that before.

Last year, he still got me a figurine. I thanked him but said I’d prefer something different next time. This year, he asked what I thought about a specific board game… and I said honestly, I don’t want any more.

Now he’s mad, saying I’m ungrateful and impossible to shop for, and that I should just make a “grocery list” of what I want. I wasn’t trying to be rude I just wanted to avoid him wasting money on something I wouldn’t use.

Would you say I was wrong for being honest? Or is it okay to tell your partner what you don’t want?

Geez, sounds like he has nooo concern for you at all, sorry to say. What husband buys his wife a board game as a present for ANY occasion?!?

Give him a list of possible gifts you’d like to get. Then if he doesn’t get any from the list, sit him down and have a serious talk. Do you buy him what he wants?
