Sushi Bowls
Introducing..
SUSHI 🍣 BOWLS 🍚
This has become an all time favorite in my house. Taking the ingredients from a basic tuna or salmon roll and essentially making a bowl out of it.
The BEST part is that it is completely customizable and you honestly have so many options. You could very easily deconstruct ANY of your favorite sushi rolls and turn it into a bowl.
I like to serve mine with a side of seaweed and make "sushi tacos" using the seaweed as the "tortilla" and the bowl ingredients as the filling.
As always if you want specific amounts for the recipe just reach out to me ❤️
INGREDIENTS:
Tuna or Salmon (or both)
Rice
Soy sauce
Black & white sesame seeds
Carrots
Cucumber
Avocado (not pictured but I was out this time)
Seaweed
SAUCE INGREDIENTS:
Japanese mayo
Fish sauce (optional but adds more flavor)
Siracha
Sugar (I like pure cane)
DIRECTIONS:
Cook rice (use the directions on the bag)
Chop Cucumber into cubes
Cut carrots into slices (I use a potato peeler but you could also use a mandolin)
Deseed and slice avocado
Mix Sauce ingredients (it will look like yum yum sauce)
Cook fish (I like mine cooked but you could also get sushi grade fish and put it on raw)
Now it's time to assemble the bowls. The first layer is rice, then put soy sauce on the rice, as much or as little as you would like. I also like to put black sesame seeds on the rice, I love the contrast.
Next add your toppings on the rice, cucumbers, carrots, avocado and fish. Then drizzle the sauce, and Siracha (this step is optional, I like a little spice so I definitely add it plus I love the look)
FINALLY, top everything with the black and white sesame seeds and ENJOY 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Sushi bowls are a fantastic fusion dish that allows you to enjoy the flavors of sushi in a new way. Not only are they hearty and satisfying, but the customization options are endless. You can transform classic sushi ingredients, such as sushi-grade tuna and salmon, into mouth-watering bowls. To start, choose your base, which is usually a bed of sushi rice. Once you have your rice prepared, the next step is to add protein. This could be cooked fish or fresh, sashimi-grade options. Don't forget to include a variety of colorful veggies to elevate your bowl – cucumbers, carrots, and avocado are perfect additions! One unique way to serve sushi bowls is by incorporating seaweed wraps or 'sushi tacos'. Simply take a sheet of seaweed, fill it with your favorite toppings from the bowl, and enjoy a fresh and interactive meal. This is especially fun for gatherings, allowing guests to build their own sushi tacos. For the sauce, a mix of Japanese mayo, sriracha, and a touch of sugar creates a creamy, spicy topping that complements the dish beautifully. You can adjust the spice levels according to your preference, catering to both mild and adventurous palates. Additionally, the sprinkling of sesame seeds not only adds texture but visual appeal as well. Whether you're meal prepping for the week or hosting a dinner party, making sushi bowls is both an enjoyable and delicious choice that everyone will love!
