Stepping Between The Worlds. The Dying Man Going Home Hand-In-Hand With His Mum
08/08/2019 By Amanda Wright-Tabone APS
Afternoon shift in a Peninsula hospital:
When I was nursing, I looked after a man who was dying in a private room. There was nothing unusual about that; it was my job, but this man was really restless.
I made sure the nurse in charge had given him his pain medication to keep him pain free, I wanted him to be as comfortable as possible.
I sat with him awhile, as I knew his time was near. He again became restless, so I spoke to him gently and said, “What is it? What’s wrong?”
He pointed to the chair and said, “Mum’s there, waiting for me.”
I could feel loads of activity in the room (I was seeing flashes of bright light and people extremely fast; this was very common to me), but at that stage I couldn’t see anyone in full body.
I said to the man, “Don’t be afraid; your mum’s come to visit with you and take you home.” He gave me a slight smile, showing me I had to reassure him that everything was ok.
Sometimes when it comes to people’s end time, they are afraid. Their soul becomes extremely agitated; I’ve witnessed this hundreds of times before death, especially with those who aren’t really prepared and ready to accept death.
We are human. Some of us are afraid of the anticipation of death itself.
Later that evening just before my shift ended, I went back into the room to check on him to make sure he was comfortable. He had sadly just passed.
I looked over at the chair (that he saw his mother in) and there, glowing, was a woman in white light with the man that had just passed.
He walked straight through the wall holding the hand of who I believe was his mother. It was actually so nice to see, because so many get stuck or are afraid of judgement and won’t cross over to the light.
