Extraordinary Human Senses~The 8 Clairs

Extraordinary Human Senses~The 8 Clairs

By Amanda APS Amanda Wright-Tabone

The five fundamental physiological senses comprise sight (vision), hearing (audition), smell (olfaction), taste (gustation), and touch (tactile perception).

The Eight Clairs represent our spiritual senses; how do they influence our perception and experiences?

1/ Clairsentience: Feeling.

A powerful inner guidance infused with wisdom and resilience ignites profound insights, empowering individuals to tap into their inner strength and unlock their full potential for personal growth and transformative experiences with continuous learning, growth and development.

2/ Claircognizance: Knowing.

Have you ever experienced an unwavering inner certainty about a future event, one that stemmed from your deepest inner wisdom and illuminated your path forward, even when details were unclear. True knowing and clarity unlike anything else.

3/ Clairalience: Olfaction.

A refined powerful sensory that attunes you to Refine energies surrounding you, facilitating insight into aromatic cues and enabling profound understandings that inform your course.

4/ Clairaudience: Auditory Perception.

Developing clairaudience enables a deeper spiritual discernment, facilitating the reception of guiding voices, intuitive sounds, and external messages, thereby allowing for the discernment of deeper truths through enhanced auditory perception.

5/ Clairgustance: Taste.

Discovering Inner Wisdom Through Taste. Explore the impact of clairgustance, a deep ability to access inner wisdom and gain insightful knowledge via the subtle language of taste, unrestricted by physical boundaries.

6/ Clairtangency: Tactile Perception. Touch.

This is an extraordinary capability, which enables the individual to access and interpret the inherent history and essence of objects. They’re able to tap into the rich history of objects, revealing hidden stories that are sometimes overlooked or lost. This forges a truly meaningful connection with deeper insights.

7/ Clairvoyance: Derived from French. Clear Seeing.

This ability is deeply rooted in our essence and allows us to tap into spiritual insights, harnessing exceptional visual perception to illuminate distant, past, or future events through extrasensory means. We gather information about objects, persons, and locations, fostering a deep connection between our world and separate realms of existence (dimensions). We experience mental images, visions, and even symbols. We access guidance, often experiencing vivid flashes or internal 'movies' like images (similar to a slide film). This gift is powerful and can be overwhelming for the individual experiencing it. It also takes many years to harness.

8/ Clairempathy: Emotional. Feeling. Empathy.

Developing emotional intelligence and intuition enables individuals to navigate life's complexities with clarity and purpose. This also includes empathetic connections with animals, loved ones, and our surrounding world. Clairempathy is a distinct ability to sense and interpret emotional states and is recognised as one of the eight primary 'Clair' senses. It’s a true absorption of emotions and feelings from others', skilled management of emotional overload, and occasional physical sensations mirroring another's distress. I call it a superpower of sorts with an extraordinary sense that takes time to develop, process and manage. It can be an overwhelming ability and takes years of dedication and patience to fully understand and adapt.

... Read moreIn my personal journey exploring the eight spiritual senses, or the "8 Clairs," I've found that developing these abilities adds a profound layer of awareness to everyday life. Unlike the five physical senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—the Clairs offer a way to connect with deeper intuitive and energetic realities. One guidance I appreciate most is clairsentience, or clear feeling. It’s not just about sensing emotions around me but tuning into subtle energies that reveal information beyond words. Over time, this heightened sensitivity can guide decisions in relationships and creativity by fostering resilience and inner wisdom. Claircognizance, clear knowing, often surprises me. There have been moments when I’ve had an unshakable sense of understanding about events or people without logical explanation, which later proved accurate. This sense encourages trust in one’s inner voice even when external evidence is scarce. Clairalience, clear smelling, is fascinating too. Sometimes a sudden scent brings a vivid mental image or emotions connected to past experiences, offering clues during meditation or problem-solving. It’s like my nose becomes a bridge to hidden messages. Through practicing clairaudience, I have learned to discern subtle sounds or intuitive messages that may otherwise be overlooked. This sense enhances listening beyond speech to intuitive whispers or energetic vibrations, which can be profoundly inspiring. Clairgustance, clear tasting, though rare, has manifested as spontaneous tastes during spiritual moments—an unusual but insightful way to receive inner guidance. Clairtangency, or clear touch, connects me physically to the history or energy of objects. By mindful touching, insights about the object's origin, story, or emotions tied to it often emerge, deepening appreciation for seemingly ordinary things. Clairvoyance, clear seeing, is the most well-known but requires patience. Over years, developing this sense has allowed me to perceive mental images or symbolic visions that offer guidance or warnings, although it can feel overwhelming at times, underscoring the need for careful integration and balance. Lastly, clairempathy, feeling others’ emotions deeply, has been both a gift and a challenge. Learning to manage emotional energies without becoming overwhelmed requires practice, but it substantially enhances compassion and connection with people and animals. Exploring the 8 psychic senses has enriched my understanding of perception and spiritual growth far beyond the tangible world. For anyone curious, I encourage gentle curiosity and openness—developing these senses takes time, patience, and a willingness to embrace mystery as part of personal evolution.
