PSA to “AI Writers” ✍️

I’ve personally found that apps like Notion or Scrivener can transform a messy collection of ideas into a coherent outline. They help you organize chapters, character arcs, and world-building notes dynamically. This isn't about AI generating my plot; it's about using a digital canvas to arrange my thoughts, ensuring my narrative flows logically without losing my personal touch. Think of it as a super-advanced corkboard for your ideas! It’s all about making your own first draft stronger, not skipping the hard work. Then there's the aspect of connecting with your audience through visuals and presentation. Once I've poured my heart into a story (like when I was dreaming of writing my debut novel, long before I ever considered using Chat GPT for the main text), I want to present it in the most engaging way possible. Digital tools are fantastic for this! I love using mood boards for character inspiration or creating compelling graphics for social media to tease my work. You can design stunning cover art, create engaging character profiles, or even build a simple website to showcase your writing. This is where digital tools shine – helping you display your hard-earned content flexibly and dynamically, making it more appealing to readers. It’s about enhancing the reader's experience, not replacing the soul of your words. Many of us, myself included, have spent countless hours writing on platforms like Wattpad or AO3, perfecting our craft through trial and error. These platforms themselves are digital tools that allow for dynamic sharing and interaction. The benefit of using these kinds of digital tools for presentation is immense; they provide a direct line to readers, allowing for immediate feedback and community building. It’s a far cry from simply saying 'I use Chat gpt' to write my entire story. The goal is to make your voice heard, amplified by technology, not obscured by it. So, while I stand firm on the idea that AI should not replace the core act of writing, I'm a huge advocate for leveraging digital tools to organize, refine, and present our work. They're there to assist, to make the writing journey smoother, and to help our authentic stories find their audience – not to write them for us.
