Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share the secret behind my latest "BRAID OUT RESULTS" that you all loved so much! Achieving defined, bouncy curls on natural hair with a braid out is totally doable, and I’m going to walk you through my step-by-step routine, including some tips for those who are looking for extra definition or even trying a cornrow braid out. Step 1: The Foundation – Clean & Conditioned Hair First things first, a great braid out starts with clean, well-conditioned hair. I always make sure to deep condition, especially for my natural hair, to ensure it’s moisturized and easy to detangle. After rinsing, I apply a generous amount of leave-in conditioner to damp hair. This step is crucial for moisture retention and making the braiding process smoother. Step 2: Product Power – My Go-To Duo! For this particular look, I used Classy Girl Essentials and Camille Rose products, and they truly delivered! After my leave-in, I section my hair and apply a styling cream, like Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk, from root to tip. Then, I follow up with a light gel or mousse from Classy Girl Essentials to lock in the definition and provide hold. The key here is even distribution; make sure every strand is coated but not oversaturated. Step 3: The Braiding Technique – Size and Tension Matter! This is where the magic happens for those stunning "BRAID OUT RESULTS." I section my hair into small to medium parts – generally, smaller sections give more definition, while larger ones result in bigger, looser waves. I braid each section firmly, but not too tight to avoid tension on my scalp. I make sure to braid all the way down to the ends, and sometimes I even twirl the very end around my finger or use a perm rod for a super defined curl at the tip. For those curious about a cornrow braid out, the principle is similar, but you’re braiding flat against your scalp. This can offer a different stretch and wave pattern, often giving a more elongated look. It’s a fantastic option if you want to switch up your curl pattern! Step 4: Patience is Key – Drying Your Braids This is perhaps the most critical step for a successful braid out: your hair must be 100% completely dry before unraveling. If your hair is even slightly damp, you risk frizz and undefined curls. I usually let my hair air dry overnight. If I'm in a rush, a hooded dryer on a low setting can speed up the process, but air drying gives me the best results. Step 5: The Reveal – Unraveling for Definition Once my hair is completely dry, it's time for the big reveal! Before I start, I put a little bit of light oil (like argan or jojoba oil) on my fingertips. This helps to minimize frizz as I unravel the braids. I gently unbraid each section, starting from the ends. Once all the braids are out, I resist the urge to separate too much right away. I let my hair sit for a few minutes, then gently separate the curls for volume, being careful not to over-separate, which can lead to frizz. The goal is to enhance those beautiful "BRAID OUT RESULTS" not disrupt them! Step 6: Maintaining Your Beautiful Curls To make my braid out last, I pineapple my hair at night (gather it loosely at the top of my head) and cover it with a silk scarf or bonnet. In the mornings, if needed, I might lightly mist with water and a tiny bit of leave-in or styling cream to refresh the curls. I hope these tips help you achieve your best braid out yet!
