MAKEUP LOOK
✨Overall style: Spring
Skin Tone: Light
Skin Type: Oily
✍🏻 Steps: Wash, Exfoliate, Apply a clay mask, Apply natural self tanner, and Apply makeup
I love this look because it is good in any weather during the Spring, especially during clear skies. The look is to intentionally match lip and blush colors exactly. Also, wearing a slightly lighter foundation than body color keeps things fresh. Don't forget to blend foundation underneath and/or just beneath the jaw. I love the bright neutral pink color. Some people prefer a slightly cooler or warmer pink. Wearing extra concealer/illuminator under eyes is a great idea to make the eyes a focal point.
Spring makeup is all about embracing freshness and subtle brightness that complements the season's light and airy vibe. For those with oily skin like mine, starting the routine with thorough cleansing and exfoliation is a game changer; it instantly smooths the skin’s surface and helps control excess oil throughout the day. Applying a clay mask once or twice a week is great for detoxifying and keeping pores clear, which is crucial for oily skin during spring when humidity can increase shine. I always follow with a natural self-tanner to gently warm my complexion, which pairs beautifully with the slightly lighter foundation shade I prefer to keep my face looking fresh and lively, especially compared to my body tone. Matching lip and blush colors is a fantastic tip I’ve experienced firsthand. Using similar bright neutral pinks creates a harmonious and youthful appearance that feels intentional and polished without being overdone. If you’re deciding between cooler or warmer pinks, consider your skin’s undertone—cooler pinks work well with cooler undertones, while warmer pinks complement warmer undertones. Another trick is focusing on the under-eye area with concealer and an illuminator. This not only brightens the eyes, making them pop as a focal point, but also combats any signs of tiredness from seasonal allergies that often come with spring. Blending foundation just beneath the jawline is subtle yet key for a seamless look that avoids harsh lines and adds to that overall fresh vibe. Finally, remember that Spring makeup should feel as light and breathable as the season itself. Opt for lightweight formulas that allow your skin to glow naturally while minimizing shine. This approach has really helped me feel confident and radiant all season long.
