September TBRs

My goal for September is to catch up on my review copies! I have such a good stack that I am so excited to read! Is there a September release you are excited to read?

My physical TBR is slowly creeping up to 400 titles and I don’t think I will make much progress on it this month. My overarching goal is to stay below 400 for the year.

I will be participating in 3 book clubs this month and plan to read 4 books. Each one has different vibes so I’m excited for the conversations we will have.

What are you planning to read in September?

... Read moreIf you're anything like me, managing a TBR list that’s climbing close to 400 books can feel overwhelming yet exciting. September is a great month to set realistic reading goals, especially when balancing physical books and review copies. It’s important to prioritize books that spark your enthusiasm and reflect a variety of genres to keep motivation high. With so many intriguing titles released in September—from Sophie H. Morgan's "Season of the Witch" to ‘‘The Austin Affair’’ by Madeline Bell—it's an excellent time to pick standout releases that align with your interests. Organizing your TBR by themes or moods, such as light reads versus intense narratives, can help manage the reading flow efficiently. Joining multiple book clubs adds a fantastic layer of accountability and community connection. Each book club often has a unique vibe, providing varied perspectives and enjoyable discussions that deepen your reading experience. Whether it’s a mystery, historical fiction, or fantasy, engaging with fellow readers sharpens your insights and invites fresh interpretations. Stay mindful of your goal to keep the physical TBR under 400 titles this year. Regularly reassess your pile and remove books that no longer interest you, making space for new discoveries. Don’t hesitate to utilize digital and audio formats to diversify your reading methods, especially for review copies or science and nonfiction titles like "Dinner with King Tut" by Sam Kean. Remember, reading is about enjoyment and exploration. Setting goals is helpful, but flexibility matters too—especially with a stack this vast. Celebrate progress over perfection and share your journey with communities like #lemon8bookclub and #septembertbr, where book lovers support and inspire each other to make every reading moment count.
