the weirdest thing you’ve tried to beat insomnia?
One night I was so desperate, I stood in my kitchen doing wall pushups until I collapsed into giggles. Another night, I froze a pair of socks and wore them like some kind of DIY cryotherapy. I even once found a “12-hour airplane cabin noise” YouTube track and thought, “sure, maybe my body thinks we’re on a red-eye?”
Most of it didn’t “fix” insomnia. But what it did do was snap me out of that spiral where I was bargaining with myself (“if I fall asleep right now, I’ll still get 3 hours…”). Even if I didn’t pass out right away, I ended up less tense, and sometimes that was enough to tip me into sleep.
Other times? I just ended up laughing at how unhinged I looked at 3am, which at least felt better than lying there hating myself for being awake.

Wall pushups until collapse? LMAO, I would've ended up with a concussion instead of sleep. 😂
