I was a teen mom having my first baby in 2016 at 17 years old! I got pregnant again in 2023 at 25, making the age gap 7 years! ☺️
Baby number 2 was a surprise. A huge shock to us but once emotions settled, we were elated. Big brother was too! He couldn’t have been happier to be getting the little sister he asked for, for years!! Just kidding, now he wanted a brother! 🫠
I chose induction at 39 weeks just like with my first baby because induction seems to work great for me! Not to mention how miserable I already was.. Between gestational diabetes and feeling like babygirl had no more room, I was ready!
Mama almost had to have a foley bulb but I dilated to a 3 on my own before induction day! I labored for 7 hours with her just like my first baby! I pushed about 5 times and babygirl was here at 3:16 AM! 🫶🏻
Our babygirl is now 8 months old, EBF and the missing piece in our life we never knew we needed! #mybirthstory #lemon8challenge

In my case, I was a teen mom at 17, bringing my first child into this world in 2016. Fast forward to 2023, I found myself expecting again, creating a 7-year age gap between my children.
The arrival of my second baby was both unexpected and deeply welcomed. The initial shock quickly turned into happiness as we prepared to welcome a much-anticipated little sister. Big brother, while hoping for a brother, eventually embraced the idea of having a sister.
I opted for an induction at 39 weeks—a decision that proved successful with my first child as well. With gestational diabetes and physical discomfort weighing heavily on me, I felt ready for the delivery. Labor lasted 7 hours, culminating in the joyful moment of welcoming our baby girl at 3:16 AM.
Now, 8 months later, our baby girl is cherished as the final piece of our family puzzle. Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) has strengthened our bond, and every day feels like a new blessing.
As more families navigate the beautiful yet challenging journey of parenting, sharing personal stories like mine can resonate with others and provide comfort, connection, and community.
