Real VS Fake Crystals ‼️

From my experience, telling real crystals apart from fake ones can be tricky without the right knowledge. For example, genuine rose quartz usually has a soft pink tone with subtle cloudy patches and tiny inclusions, unlike fake ones that appear overly clear or too perfect in color. When it comes to rubies, beware of stones that are uniformly bright or neon red—natural rubies often have tiny internal imperfections and a warm, glowing sheen rather than a sharp glassy shine. For jade, the color and texture are key: real jade shows uneven green shades ranging from light green to lavender and feels cool and dense to the touch. On the other hand, fake jade might be too glossy and warm to touch, often made from dyed quartz or plastic. Freshwater pearls differ too—authentic ones are usually heavier with small imperfections, whereas fake pearls can be perfectly round and light. Moonstones are a personal favorite of mine, and I’ve noticed that real moonstone beads show a dynamic blue or rainbow flash that shifts when you tilt them; fake moonstones have static, painted flashes or uniform patterns. When you’re shopping, it’s also helpful to observe the weight—natural stones tend to be heavier than plastic or resin imitations. Overall, I recommend closely inspecting your crystals under good lighting, looking for natural inconsistencies like uneven color, small inclusions, or layered textures. Trust your touch; genuine stones often feel cool and substantial, while fakes may feel surprisingly light or plasticky. With practice, you’ll develop a keen eye that helps you avoid overpriced fakes and truly appreciate the beauty of authentic crystals.
