valentines hairstyle inspo 🩷

this is the perfect updo for my romantic girlies!! you start my creating two high or low pigtails in the back. The part doesn’t have to be perfect because it won’t matter in the end :). After you have created this two slicked pigtails you begin to rope braid the pigtails. I can do a more in depth video on how to rope braid but it’s honestly just twisting the hair in opposite directions. If you are able to not hold your hair and it and it stays in place you have done it right! After you’re done rope braiding you are going to pancake the rope braid so begin pull apart the braid to make it look thicker and looser. Once that is done you are going to take the braid and tuck half of it, into a hair tie to create almost circles braids. I really hope I’m making sense haha. After that you take one braid and tie it into the section braid to create one big bun. Once that’s done you tie off your bun and add the cute vday bow!! I went for this gorgeous white floral one but any would do. Here’s a little tip if you want your bun to be high add a bow to the bottom of your bun. If you want your bun to be low add a bow to the top of your bun. Once your bow is added I like to pull apart the bun to make it even messier and looser and you are have created the perfect updo for vday!! #lemon8partner #hairstyles #updos #valentineshairstyles #bunhairstyle

... Read moreOkay, girlies, if you're like me, finding that perfect romantic hairstyle can feel like a quest! I absolutely adore the rope braid bun I shared; it's my go-to for Valentine's Day and any special occasion where I want to feel extra charming. But sometimes, it's fun to switch things up, or maybe you need something even quicker! So, let me share some more of my favorite tips and tricks for rocking those dreamy, romantic looks. Beyond the beautiful updo, I often find myself reaching for other styles that scream romance. Loose, soft waves are always a winner – they're effortless yet elegant. I usually use a wide-barrel curling iron and then gently brush them out for that natural, flowing look. For something a little more structured but still soft, a half-up style with a delicate twist or a tiny braid woven through can be incredibly charming. Just pull back the top sections, twist them loosely, and secure with a small, clear elastic or a pretty clip. Leave a few face-framing pieces out to enhance that soft, ethereal vibe. What truly makes a hairstyle 'romantic,' you ask? In my experience, it's all about softness and a touch of intentional messiness. Think gentle waves, not stiff curls. Think wispy tendrils around your face, not slicked-back perfection. Adding a delicate accessory, like a pearl pin, a silk ribbon, or yes, even that adorable V-day bow from my updo tutorial, instantly elevates any look. I always make sure my hair has a bit of volume at the crown – a little backcombing or a good volumizing spray does wonders without making it look too 'done'. To keep these romantic styles looking fabulous all day (or night!), a few products are my absolute holy grail. A good heat protectant spray is a must if you’re using hot tools. For hold that isn't crunchy, I swear by a flexible hold hairspray – it lets your hair move naturally. And if you need a little extra texture or to refresh your roots, dry shampoo is your best friend. It can also add amazing lift and body to finer hair, perfect for those 'undone' romantic looks. I've found that a texturizing spray also works wonders for giving those braids and buns that desirable 'pancaked' look without too much effort, just like I mentioned for the rope braid! These aren't just 'Valentines hairstyle inspo' ideas, ladies! While perfect for V-Day, these romantic styles are fantastic for date nights, anniversaries, a best friend's wedding as a guest, or even just when you want to feel a bit more special on a Tuesday. Don't be afraid to personalize them! Instead of a bow, try fresh flowers tucked into your bun or braid for a garden party feel. Or, if you're going for a more glamorous vibe, incorporate some sparkling hair gems. Remember, the goal is to feel beautiful and confident, whatever your 'romantic' means to you. Experiment and have fun with your hair! There's so much joy in creating a look that makes you feel utterly lovely. Hope these extra tips give you even more 'romantic hairstyles' to play with!
