The verse from Psalm 62:1-2, “Only in God does my soul find rest; from Him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my refuge, I will never be shaken,” has served as a steadfast reminder throughout many challenging days. Whenever worries about the future or the unpredictability of life begin to overwhelm me, I find peace by focusing on the fact that God’s steadfastness doesn’t change with circumstances. This reflection encourages me to redirect my attention away from fleeting concerns to the eternal strength and refuge God offers. Practical steps that helped deepen this rest include setting aside daily quiet moments for prayer and meditation on Scripture, which reinforce the truth that God has been present in the past, is with me now, and will continue to be my refuge tomorrow. It can be empowering to remind oneself that nothing comes as a surprise to Him—even when life seems overwhelming. For those seeking to cultivate this inner peace, I recommend journaling thoughts and prayers centered on God’s promises, connecting with supportive faith communities, and sharing reflections with others who understand the journey. Resting in God is not about ignoring reality but choosing to trust the Rock beneath your feet rather than the unstable ground of circumstances. Ultimately, anchoring our souls in God is a continuous practice that invites serenity despite life’s storms. This personal approach transforms anxiety into trust and uncertainty into hope, deeply enriching one’s spiritual walk and daily life.
