CHOCOFLAN CASERO 😋

Ingredientes

... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you're loving the chocoflan recipe! I wanted to share some extra tips and tricks I've picked up along my baking journey, especially if you want to try making individual portions or just want a perfectly un-molded dessert every time. Making Chocoflan in Individual Servings (Chocoflan en Vasos): One of the most common questions I get is about making these beauties in individual sizes. It's totally doable and actually super cute for parties! Instead of a large bundt pan, you can use muffin tins, ramekins, or even small heat-proof glass jars. The process is pretty much the same, just scaled down. First, make your caramel and pour a small amount into the bottom of each individual mold. Let it cool. Then, add a spoonful of your chocolate cake batter, followed by the flan mixture. You'll still need to bake them in a water bath, but the baking time will reduce significantly – usually around 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of your molds. Just keep an eye on them and do the toothpick test! These 'chocoflan en vasos individuales' are always a hit. My Best Tips for Unmolding Chocoflan (Desmoldar Chocoflan Like a Pro!): Getting that perfect flip can be a little nerve-wracking, right? I've had my share of sticky situations, but I've learned a few tricks. Chill, Chill, Chill! This is non-negotiable. Your chocoflan must be completely cold and set, ideally refrigerated overnight. Warm flan is much more likely to break. The Knife Edge: Before flipping, run a thin, sharp knife around the entire edge of the mold. Make sure it goes all the way down to the caramel layer. This releases any stubborn bits. Warm Bath Trick: If it's really stuck, try placing the bottom of your mold in a shallow pan of warm (not hot!) water for about 30-60 seconds. This gently warms the caramel, making it liquidy again and easier to release. Don't let water get into your flan! Confident Flip: Choose a serving plate slightly larger than your mold. Place the plate firmly on top of the mold, then with one swift, confident motion, flip it over! Tap the bottom of the mold a few times, and gravity should do the rest. Lift the mold slowly. Voila! A beautiful chocoflan, with that gorgeous caramel flowing down. A Few More Pro-Tips: Caramel Care: When making the caramel, keep an eye on it! It goes from perfect to burnt quickly. A light golden amber is ideal; dark amber can taste bitter. Water Bath is Key: The 'baño María' (water bath) ensures even, gentle cooking for the flan, preventing it from curdling or drying out. Don't skip this step! This helps create that creamy flan layer. Don't Overbake: Overbaked flan can get rubbery. When the edges are set but the center still has a slight jiggle, it's usually done. This helps maintain the perfect texture for both the dark chocolate cake base and the flan. Customize It! Feel free to add a splash of coffee or cinnamon to your chocolate cake batter for a flavor twist. You can also experiment with different extracts in your flan mix, like almond or even a hint of rum for an adult version. I hope these extra pointers help you make an even more amazing chocoflan! Happy baking!
