Steve and his 6 nuggets
I can’t believe I actually thought there would be a 9th episode 🥲 #strangerthings #strangerthings5
Okay, so I saw the original post about Stranger Things episodes and how quickly they fly by – seriously, I can’t believe I actually thought there would be a 9th episode last time! It got me thinking about all the amazing fan theories and inside jokes that make this show even better, especially one of my absolute favorites: 'Steve Harrington and his 6 nuggets.' It's literally a core part of the Stranger Things fandom now, and for good reason! For anyone who might not be deep into the Upside Down lore (though I bet you are!), the 'Steve and his 6 nuggets' theory isn't about actual chicken nuggets, but rather a super heartwarming nickname for the younger kids Steve Harrington constantly ends up looking after. Think about it: Dustin, Max, Lucas, Erica, El, and even Will at different points – they're all his unofficial adopted brood. It's not a literal theory, but more of a loving, fan-driven concept that perfectly encapsulates Steve's incredible character arc. Where did this all begin? Well, remember 'King Steve' from Season 1? The arrogant jock with the perfect hair? Fast forward to Season 2, and he's suddenly giving Dustin dating advice and fighting Demodogs with a nail-bat. That's when 'Babysitter Steve' was born! His transformation from high school hotshot to the group's designated, albeit often clueless, guardian has been one of the most beloved developments in the entire series. He just naturally steps into that protective role, especially when the adults are, let's be honest, often busy or struggling themselves. His moments with Dustin, where he shares life lessons and genuinely cares, are pure gold and really cemented this 'nuggets' idea. What makes the 'Steve and his 6 nuggets' theory resonate so deeply with fans like me? It's his selflessness! He consistently puts himself in harm's way for these kids, providing comedic relief, emotional support, and a much-needed sense of stability. He's the guy who always has the snacks, the transportation, and the willingness to dive headfirst into danger, even if he's terrified. This contrast with his initial portrayal, combined with his genuine affection for the kids, makes him an incredibly endearing and relatable character. He's the unexpected big brother/dad figure everyone wishes they had in a crisis. Now, as we're all anxiously awaiting *Stranger Things 5*, I can't help but wonder how this 'nuggets' dynamic will play out in the final season. Will Steve finally get a happy ending, perhaps finding his own romantic partner and a family, or will his path continue to be intertwined with protecting the younger generation? Many fans, including me, hope to see him find personal happiness, but also continue that beautiful bond with his 'nuggets.' It would be such a fitting and heartwarming conclusion to his journey, seeing him fully embrace his role, whatever form it takes. What do you all think? Who are your favorite 'nuggets' and what do you hope for Steve in the final season? Let's discuss!
