What to expect with a one year old | my experience

Welcome to the toddler era. I must say I’ve loved every phase my baby has been through but this one is my favorite (although with every new phase she’s gone through I say this.) There’s just something about seeing the joy and happiness through your babies eyes, seeing them giggle and play. It’s just so fun and sweet.

My daughter Blake has a big personality already she is 14 months old this month, and boy life with her is a rollercoaster, I love it! She gives says mama and dada, dada when she’s happy and mama when she wants something, of course! She gives kisses very selectively, hugs, and high fives. She waves bye bye and says hi while grasping her little hands and I must say it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. She thinks our dog is hilarious and wants to smother the cats, she loves all the animals. This girl is a CLIMBER, she’s like a little dare devil. If she can climb it she’s going to and if she knows she shouldn’t do something she most definitely will be doing just that with a grin on her face. She knows the meaning of no and knows certain things she shouldn’t do but gets a kick out of getting caught, quite the little booger.

Regardless of the highs and lows, the sleepless nights, meltdowns and the tantrums toddlerhood is worth it all #toddlermom #momlife #newmom #toddler #momlife #momsoflemon8 #oneyearold #Lemon8Diary #motherhood #motherhoodjourney

As your child reaches this pivotal age, expect to witness a blossoming personality. Not only are they starting to communicate more effectively, expressing needs through words like 'mama' and 'dada', but their emotional and social awareness is also rapidly evolving. You may notice your toddler engaging in interactive play, imitating actions, and displaying a deep interest in their surroundings, particularly in animals. At 14 months, the toddler's exploration skills often lead them to climb and investigate every corner of the house. Providing a safe environment filled with stimulating toys can encourage healthy play while minimizing hazards. On the emotional spectrum, while sleepless nights and occasional meltdowns can be challenging, the love and affection that your little one reciprocates can immensely outweigh the hardships. Cherish those moments of laughter, hugs, and spontaneous joy; each day brings new experiences to treasure on your parenting journey. Additionally, each child is unique, and understanding their developmental pace matters. Engaging with your toddler in enjoyable activities such as reading, singing, or simple household chores can enhance bonding and learning skills. Remember, every experience—good or bad—contributes significantly to their growth and shapes your family life, making this period one of the most rewarding chapters in your parenting journey.
