Sometimes life is unjust but got it take it one day at a time.
Having faced cancer, I understand how overwhelming and unjust life can feel at times. What helped me the most was focusing on the small moments — a deep breath, a smile, and being thankful for what I have now rather than what I lost. Each day is a step toward healing, and embracing gratitude has been a powerful tool in my recovery process. Living with cancer or surviving it often reshapes our perspective on life. The emotional ups and downs are real, and it’s okay to acknowledge them. I found that surrounding myself with supportive people and sharing my experience helped lessen the emotional burden. Remembering to breathe and smile through difficult times can bring unexpected strength. One of the most important lessons from my journey was accepting that not everything is within our control. Life may be unfair, but taking it one day at a time allows us to cope better and appreciate the progress we make, no matter how small. Whether it’s a simple walk outside, a chat with a loved one, or moments of quiet reflection, these small joys build resilience. For others facing similar challenges, I encourage you to find what grounds you—whether it’s mindfulness, hobbies, or community support—and hold onto that. The phrases “breathe, smile and be thankful” became my personal mantra, reminding me to stay present and hopeful. Cancer changes you, but it can also teach you the value of life’s precious moments.
