Teaching 3rd grade is such a rewarding experience, especially when you get to be part of a child's daily growth and learning. In my years of teaching, I've found that connecting with students through shared interests can really enhance the classroom environment. For me, bringing some of my hobbies like reading and sports into lessons creates a lively and relatable atmosphere. Outside the classroom, thrifting is one of my favorite ways to unwind and find unique treasures. It’s amazing how much character and history some items carry, and I love incorporating those stories when I can. Music, particularly country and Taylor Swift, also plays a big role in my life. I often use songs to inspire creativity or to bring some fun energy into a lesson. Living and teaching in Oklahoma has its own charm. The community here is supportive, and there’s always something local to explore, whether it's a sporting event or a music concert. Balancing my love for education and personal interests helps me stay energized and passionate about what I do every day.
