On a cut

2025/1/20 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! So, you’ve seen my initial post about being ‘on a cut,’ and I wanted to dive a bit deeper into what that actually means for me, especially focusing on a low-fat approach. It’s been a journey, and honestly, after a bit of recent weight gain, getting back on track feels good, but it's definitely a commitment to a healthier lifestyle. When I say 'low fat cutting,' I'm talking about strategically reducing body fat while trying to preserve as much muscle mass as possible. For me, this means being very mindful of my calorie intake, ensuring I'm in a slight deficit, and prioritizing protein while keeping fats lower than usual. It’s not about eliminating fats entirely – healthy fats are crucial – but rather being super selective. Think lean protein sources like chicken breast, fish, and egg whites, coupled with plenty of fibrous veggies and complex carbs like oats or sweet potatoes. I've found that meal prepping is an absolute lifesaver here; it helps me stick to my targets and avoid spontaneous, high-fat choices. My gym sessions have become even more critical during this phase. I'm focusing on heavy compound lifts to signal to my body to hold onto muscle, even when calories are lower. Think squats, deadlifts, bench presses – the big movements. I also incorporate some isolation work, but the main goal is strength maintenance. Cardio is in the mix too, typically some steady-state LISS (low-intensity steady-state) cardio a few times a week, which helps burn a few extra calories without overly taxing my recovery. It’s all about finding that balance where you're pushing yourself but not overtraining. Mentally, a cut can be tough. There are days when hunger hits hard, or motivation dips. What keeps me going is focusing on the 'why' – the desire for a stronger, leaner, and ultimately healthier lifestyle. I track my current weight regularly, but I don't let the scale dictate my mood. Instead, I look at how my clothes fit, my energy levels, and those little non-scale victories. Taking progress photos (like the mirror selfie you might have seen!) also really helps to see the subtle changes over time. If I have a day where I slip up, I don't let it derail me; I just get back on track with the next meal or workout. Consistency, not perfection, is the key. For anyone looking to try a low-fat cut, my advice is to start small, track your food, and listen to your body. Experiment with different low-fat recipes – I'm loving lean ground turkey stir-frys right now! And remember to stay hydrated. This journey isn't just about how you look; it’s about feeling strong, energetic, and confident in your own skin. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and every small step forward is progress. Keep pushing, and let's smash those fitness goals together!

I absolutely love this lotion, so I decided to cut it open to see how much was left. There was a lot more lotion than I thought there would be!🫢 I definitely recommend doing this because otherwise I would have wasted so much product if I had just thrown it away. It also didn’t all fit inside the N
