💍 From “just a trip” to forever
I lowkey knew it was coming 😅 We’ve always talked about our future and even went ring shopping before. Just before the NZ trip, he asked my parents out for lunch to get their blessings (my mum kinda exposed it by accident 🤭).
I thought it would happen at Hooker Valley (one of the spots he really wanted to go). But it was raining and super muddy that day — I was half wondering how he was going to kneel on the ground 😂 Thankfully he didn’t, and we just enjoyed the view.
The real surprise came the next day at Peter’s Lookout. As we walked to the viewpoint, I spotted a tripod and assumed it belonged to some tourists. Didn’t think much and just went ahead taking photos with my phone.
Then he put down his bag, told me not to take out my tripod (I always do for couple shots, haha). Of course, I ignored him and started anyway 🙈 He nagged a little, then pulled me over to show me a video. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee… and I completely blanked out on what he said lol.
I said yes 💕 and only realized after he waved to someone that the “tourist tripod” was actually our photographer’s! Shoutout to Stanley 📸 who captured the moment so beautifully.
We ended the day with a little photoshoot around the area — such a wholesome, once-in-a-lifetime memory 🥹✨ Simple, beautiful, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better proposal.
