First things first, preparation is key. Make sure you have a good pair of sharp hair-cutting scissors – don't use kitchen shears, trust me! A fine-tooth comb, hair clips, and a hand mirror (to see the back) are also essential. I always start with clean, damp hair, as it’s easier to section and cut precisely. Now, for the layers! If you're aiming for that classic "V" shape in the back, which I absolutely prefer over a blunt cut, the technique involves pulling your hair forward. I section my hair into top and bottom halves, clip up the top, and then pull the bottom section straight forward over my shoulders. From there, I trim a very small amount, creating a subtle angle.
