Elden Ring
Hey fellow Tarnished! When I first stepped into the Lands Between, I was completely overwhelmed by the sheer number of bosses lurking around every corner. From the intimidating demigods to the hidden optional terrors, Elden Ring's boss encounters are truly legendary, and notoriously difficult! I remember my first encounter with Margit, the Fell Omen. I died so many times, I almost gave up! But through persistence, learning patterns, and a lot of trial and error (and a few rage quits, I won't lie!), I finally developed some strategies that helped me not just survive, but thrive against these epic challenges. So, if you're looking for an Elden Ring bosses guide to help you get through your journey, you've come to the right place! Here are some of my personal tips and tricks that made a huge difference: 1. Learn Their Dance, Not Just Their Attacks: Every boss in Elden Ring has a distinct rhythm. Instead of just dodging blindly, try to spend a few attempts just observing. Watch their wind-ups, their recovery frames, and especially their stances. You'll start to see openings you never noticed before. I found this super helpful with Godrick the Grafted – once I understood his combo chains, I could predict when to apply pressure. 2. Don't Underestimate Spirit Ashes: Seriously, these can be game-changers! For many bosses, the Mimic Tear or Black Knife Tiche can draw aggro, giving you precious seconds to heal, cast spells, or get in some free hits. Even the humble Jellyfish Spirit can be surprisingly tanky early on. Experiment with different Spirit Ashes; some work better against certain enemy types. 3. Upgrade Your Gear, Seriously!: This might seem obvious, but it's often overlooked. Spending those Smithing Stones and Somber Smithing Stones is crucial. A fully upgraded weapon can mean the difference between a boss taking 20 hits and taking 10. Also, don't forget your Flasks of Crimson and Cerulean Tears – increasing their potency and max charges at the Sacred Tears and Golden Seeds is vital for endurance. 4. Explore, Explore, Explore: Sometimes, if a boss feels impossible, it's because you're under-leveled or missing a key item or spell. Elden Ring rewards exploration with powerful weapons, talismans, and upgrade materials that can turn the tide. I often found that taking a break from a tough boss to explore a new area would lead to a level up or a new piece of gear that made the fight much easier. 5. Status Effects Are Your Friends: Don't forget about things like Frostbite, Bleed, Poison, or Rot. Many bosses are susceptible to at least one of these. Weapons that inflict Bleed (like Uchigatana early on) can absolutely shred certain health bars, and Frostbite can create great windows for extra damage. Messing around with different greases or incantations can drastically change a fight. 6. Embrace the Summons (NPCs and Co-op): For some of the truly brutal bosses, don't be afraid to call in an NPC summon (if available) or even a fellow player. There's no shame in getting a little help! Having someone else draw aggro or provide support can make an otherwise insurmountable challenge feel manageable. My friends and I had some epic co-op battles against Malenia, Blade of Miquella – definitely recommend it if you're stuck! Remember, every death is a learning opportunity. Don't get discouraged! With practice, patience, and these tips, you'll be conquering every boss in the Lands Between and claiming your rightful place as the Elden Lord. Good luck, fellow Tarnished!
