Client was going to Puerto Rico for vacation and she wanted to fill #mermaid aesthetic with her nails

We did some fun 3d art with builder gel and well as added bubble beads, pearls and sea charms to her nails.

For me, my personal fave is the mermaid tale - fully hand drawn. We used cat eye gels and outlines in gold liner gel to give it some dimension.

Overall really happy with how these turned out 🤭

If you're dreaming of a summer getaway or just want to add some enchanting sparkle to your everyday, diving into mermaid nail designs is a fantastic choice. One of the most captivating aspects of mermaid nail art is the use of 3D elements. Imagine tiny, glistening bubble beads that mimic seafoam, or delicate pearls scattered across your nail bed. These aren't just flat designs; they add incredible texture and depth, making your manicure truly pop. Another popular technique involves using builder gel to create raised, sculpted details like intricate seashell designs or even subtle ocean waves, giving a tactile dimension to your nails. The color palette is crucial for that authentic mermaid vibe. While classic blue-to-clear gradients are a staple, often seen transitioning from a deep ocean blue to a sparkling, translucent tip, don't shy away from other enchanting hues. Think iridescent pearlescent white bases that shimmer like a mermaid's scales, or vibrant combinations of purple and turquoise nails that evoke tropical waters. For a touch of luxury, gold mermaid nails can be achieved with metallic accents or delicate gold liner gel tracing the outlines of scales or hand-drawn mermaid tails. Some prefer a softer look with pastel blue and yellow nails, perfect for a gentle, sun-kissed beach aesthetic. The details truly make these designs come alive. Hand-drawn mermaid tails are a favorite, often crafted with precision using cat eye gels for that mesmerizing depth, then outlined with a thin gold liner to make them stand out. Beyond tails, consider incorporating small gold starfish or shell charms for an authentic touch. These tiny embellishments transform your nails into miniature underwater scenes. For those who love a bit of sparkle, a glittery finish over an ocean wave design creates a dazzling effect, reminiscent of sunlight dancing on the water. For a unique twist, explore gothic mermaid nails. This style often uses deeper, darker blues, greens, and purples, sometimes incorporating black or silver accents for a mysterious, edgy siren look. It proves that mermaid inspiration isn't just for bright summer days! When you're looking for your next mermaid nail inspo, think about what elements you love most about the ocean. Do you prefer the soft glow of pearls, the shimmer of scales, or the dynamic movement of waves? Don't be afraid to mix and match. Many beautiful sets feature a combination of these elements on different almond-shaped nails, creating a cohesive yet varied look. Caring for your intricate 3D mermaid nails is important to keep them looking fabulous. Be gentle with your hands, especially when reaching into bags or doing tasks that might snag the embellishments. Regular top coat application can help seal in the design and add extra shine. Whether you're heading to Puerto Rico like this client or just want to feel like an ocean goddess, mermaid nail designs offer endless possibilities to express your inner siren. They're perfect for summer nails and beach nails, instantly transporting you to a seaside escape.
